My kid loves cars.  How do I follow his intrinsic interest?

A child is only ready at a certain time for certain information. We can respect that and accompany it. For instance, let’s take a child who loves to play with cars. Cars are his big passion and we want to teach him things. How about we count the cars, and eventually subtract the cars (Math). How about we segment the cars by attributes (Geometry, Language, Math)). How about we draw cars (Art)? How about we write a story about the cars (Language)? How about we discover where the cars are made (Cutural/Geography)? How about we discover how they work (Science)? Always remember that children really prefer real work over play. They want to learn and feel empowered and it is up to us to teach.
